So , at my first day as an intern in the company that would probably be employing me, i heard some great lines that made me gain so much hope in humanity -.-

From HR :

- "your timings will be 10 to 7 , 6 days a week."(even though it takes 4 hours to commute to and fro from that place). "We have a 9 hour a day schedule, and anything between 5-9 hours is considered a half day"

- "we have a 1 paid holiday per month scheme. And that starts after first 3 months, and yes TitanLannister, that also applies to interns. You may take a leave but that won't be considered for payment"(even though the said intern's internship is of 3 months and he already notified that he would be needing a 10 day leave for his exams and a few other college related work leaves )

-"here is an official laptop you could work upon(has average specs but inferior to my laptop). Note that its already loaded with slack, and a browser history tracking software, so you might wanna log out of that if you want to use it for personal use. Also if you want to use your personal laptop, then these tools would still be added into your laptop"

-" all the things mentioned above are connected to this fingerprint card that will automatically upload those details on an hr software and enable history tracker "

-"take your time, but we need this task done by you in next 24 hours. There is no deadline, but we need this work done asap"

In the words on purgatony:
"This is hardly working
This is hardly living
This is my JOB"

    Get out of there fast. If you don't, you're showing these companies that devs can swallow a lot of shit without saying anything. Staying there scars the market for developers. There are a lot more companies to intern that do not do that.

    I am always amazed how some countries seem to have no law whatsoever to protect their workers.

    @Jilano we can't hand that information out in "memos" - that would be physical evidence - it was said during an unofficial meeting, that never happened last week at 3pm at the "you know where" place.

    Sorry to hear about your intern job.
    Yeah, GTFO as fast as you can.
    There are far better places to work that will actually treat you like an adult. This company seems like the exception rather than the norm in the industry from my experience.
    I use my own laptop to do some work in the place I work in, but there's no "you must install a tracker" stipulation to it.

    another of those posts where i think "wow..most of that would be straight up illegal in germoney and would cost said employer probably his life (in a figurative sense)"

    errr. depending how other places are it seems like a bad to super bad deal

    Honestly it sucks but am doing it.

    1. Try being an Indian. There is too much competition that would comply to those demands without making a fuss :(

    2. They are paying decent.

    3. I have been referred here by my Android teacher who is also here for research. He is not an employee, but is helping me in getting known to things. Plus he is the founder's friend whom i directly report to, so i guess those rules would apply less severely on me.

    4. You guys haven't replied at all on my rant (https://devrant.com/rants/2240280/...) where i asked you about the happy parts, so am assuming a negetive crowd here :| please give me something to compare about, what was your experience as an intern?

    @TitanLannister that work time would simply be illegal in many countries. Maybe it's customary in India.

    @electrineer yeah its pretty much it. 3 startups have tried to make me work 10-7.
    But a small update, i talked and now am doing 11-6 now( but only till the time i am an intern) a little better , considering all the commuting time. Though i guess i have to relocate there when doing a job
