Well, as more and more ice disappears the amount of ice to lose also decreases. This could be reflected in proportionally lower rates of loss, leading to a graph like that shown here.
I think it's also worth pointing out that the "accepted" narrative of climate change has a lot of things worth questioning further, but that's beyond the scope of your question. -
@powerfulparadox The chart is technically correct but its just about the worst way I can imagine visualizing the data behind it. It's like speaking in double negatives. Example:
This chat is not, not, not good. -
@powerfulparadox Just imagine Gimli offering Frodo to withdraw his negative axe in Rivendell.
-
@Fast-Nop "It's too depressing around here. I'm going to withdraw my negative axe."
"Me too!"
Frodo: "I never understood them anyway. Why do we have sentient weapons and why are so many of them so depressing?" -
The real problem here is that the chart gives no perspective. There is no way to understand the size of the problem because of the way they selected the origo. That's the same trick commonly used in advertising.

@electrineer If you do not read the news, you are uninformed. If you do, you are misinformed.

If you do not follow media you will be not informed, if you do follow media you will be misinformed.

Hansz7495yThe new cult of green forbids mentioning the dark side ... of you do they will send their prophet ‘the almighty Greta’ over to chastise you
God, the media is a joke. They can't spell loss, and the chart would seem to indicate that ice loss is decreasing. How do you mess up a line chart? and a four letter word?
