The person who invented battery powered faucets that turn off automatically needs to be strung up by his toes.

    @bahua but why? It's already in a static position, why not run electric to it

    @Codex404 Two reasons. First, you don't need to put a mains cable to the faucet. Second, low voltage batteries don't need safety stuff (especially relevant near water).

    Even more so if it's a retrofit.
