Some rechargeables last longer if you keep them cooler. Our AAs are kept in the fridge for this reason.
Not sure about the freezer though. -

Battery chemistry REALY DONT LIKE working outside of the specs.
Rechargables included. They might freezze and explode or in the best case not work due as good due to the slower reaction. -
@Gregozor2121 The specs for the rechargeables I have allow for operation down to -20C IIRC. The fridge is certainly well, well within their specified operating range.
Found a sandwich bag of AA batteries in the common kitchen freezer. Not sure what to do.
