kamen69175ySo... they advertise them as 4K-capable, but they overheat just by showing something on a display?
-
@kamen Raspis like to overheat doing just about anything... It's up to the user to provide a cooling solution... You can also under-clock it to get it to run cooler...

Hazarth94875y@netikras ah, it looked metal. Im considering getting a pi4 but was put off by the overheating problems with it. Tho the flirc case has some great feedback showing it performing as good as cheap active cooling solutions... So this kinda scared me! Thank god, I really want a quiet Pi that I can leave on in the livingroom or so

@Hazarth 😁
well it does feel a bit warmer than pi3, even why idling. Nothing radical or worrying - just warmer.
And heat is not the reason I'd ve worried. I've had my hands on 3x rpi4, all had raspbian installed. And there is smth off w/ radio and video. I'm still trying to hunt it down to confirm whether it's os [driver] or hw related, but I've managed to repro it on all the 3 rpi4 w/ raspbian 10.
Testing a raspberry pi 4 as a computer driving our 4k dashboards' screen. Temperatures are constantly 80-90C.
Me: STEP ASIDE! MAKE WAY FOR A HOTFIX!
Rpi: aaahhh, 42C -- now we're talkin!
