I get whey people hate WordPress, but most of the issues come from badly coded plugins (which you dont need), badly coded themes (which you dont need), bad code (which you can fix).

At the end of the day its just PHP and if you are good at PHP you can fix all of those issues you have with WordPress. I hated WP before I started working with it, but now that I know how to work with it and extend it the proper way its one of my go to cms platforms.

This is one of my main incomes and I have hundreds of clients asking me to fix bad developers code on a weekly basis. Remember there is no such thing a s a "WordPress Develooper", you are a PHP developer and if WordPress is hard or messy to you than you are a bad PHP developer. :)
