    I always try to imagine what's going through their minds once they see the ubuntu logo, the terminal or an open file

    Don't worry, they will get bored in some time :p

    They just want to make sure you're not hacking the government.

    You know man, I normally don't do that, not because of the attention but because i am too lazy to go anywhere else after work to keep doing what I was doing at work and what I can comfortably do at home. If I am in public I fuck around in my phone.

    But wouldn't you say that would be a nice conversation starter? Think of it, we as developers are basically magicians in the sense that we make the things that people enjoy the most: videogames, streaming services, mobile and web applications, communication tools etc, you name it, and we do it whilst wielding arcane symbols appear in front of their very eyes. I think the curiosity is cute, I don't know about how you look :P but I have gotten most of the conversation starters by girls, and I am a social person so I don't mind talking to random people on the street or at coffee shops(starbucks in my area is full of cuties) so I mean, maybe make the best out of it, get some charm out and shit y'know? I say this in the nicest of way man

    @AleCx04 Yes this :D

    @linuxxx right? Its like, people already have a bad perception of developers are shy introverted assholes, there is no need to perpetually represent this notion by acting all hostile about it.

    @AleCx04 I'm very social and extrovert myself so yeah, I can relate with this a lot 😁

    We are the magicians who make things that people enjoy the most. Like Microsoft Excel.
