So, literally the truth.

For me it's not about dark vs light mode.

I have a small preference for darker themes, but it's primarily about the right amount of contrast. For example, Solarized Light is not a bad theme in my opinion, to have a warm yellowish background with soft colored text on it.

I actually hate all the companies these days which just slap a #FFF font on a #000 background and yell at everyone LOOK WE HAVE DARK MODE. Those sharp white letters still cut like little razorblades into my retinas.

All hail dark mode.

Dark when coding at home (usually night time). Light at work under fluorescent lights.

For a given contrast,
1. light theme + low brightness is
the one
2. dark themers tend to have higher brightness levels

Do the same in sunlight.
