And I have had success with this method. It was reproducible, too. First attempt failed. Second succeeded. It was an api endpoint throwing an error message on inviting a user. First invite created a user. Second invite used the user to send off an email informing him he was invited.
Well, the created user object wasn't passed on, but as soon as the user was in the database it worked.
