Negra Modelo
They grow the raw material and make the malt in my state (Idaho). Then make the beverage in Mexico. So its an import, but made partly in my backyard. -
bahua128015yWhen I visit a new city, I mostly look for IPAs and New England style IPAs from local breweries I've never heard of. There are thousands of breweries in the US, so it's easy to find something completely new when I travel a couple hundred miles from home. It's a fun strategy.
We went to the UK for our honeymoon in 2015, and I was very disappointed with the variety and flavor of beers we found there. It was almost all bland and flavorless.
We extended our honeymoon by a week so I could officiate a wedding in Prague, and the beer there was sensational. -

If you're not interested in living very long, the food is wonderful. Mush, rarebit, sausage rolls, black pudding, haggis, fish and chips, scotch eggs. Great for vacation, but probably not for longevity. -
ddephor44465yRadler ("Shandy" for the brits), a mix of beer and lemonade in the ratio of your choice.
Although the regular one is made with pilsener, you should try to get it with Weissbier, that's the best, especially on a hot summer day. -
@shoop
I've had a fairly broad sample of their offerings; lagers ports, cordial/fruit-base. -
bahua128015yDrinking this one tonight. Made by a very good local brewery that always plays death metal when you go.

Sabro3135yAre you having that with the obligatory deep fried Mars bar?
Earl grey with milk here, btw. -
SomeNone7115yEveryday drink: sparkling water (preferably a light sparkle rather than a strong one).
Once in a while: espresso watered down with sparkling water because I like the way it makes the crema (foam) rise.
For the light alcoholization: Radler (Amstel or Grolsch).
Beer: IJwit or Franziskaner Dunkel. Also, many Belgian beers are great!
Favourite liqueur as of late: Pacharán. I also have an unopened Ruavieja Crema in the closet. -
@bahua
I'd definitely give it a go, places sounds like it's right up my alley. Denver is a solid beer town, spent plenty of time in the DTC.
Local to me brewery has a similar bent, but with nitro porter -
@SomeNone
That all sounds great to me :) Especially the doppel, I'm always up for an optimator. The basque liquor is something I haven't dug into, will do if I'm ever that way. -
@SomeNone
Read that wrong :) Dunkel is good as well. My only rule with beers is nothing light.

I like trying the local pißwasser of choice when traveling around. Sometimes it's bad (Baltika, fe). Working out of Glasgow atm, so it's irnbrü, kind of tastes like bubblegum. What's everyones' local drink du jour (alcoholic or otherwise)?
