You're free to contribute to Signal unless you want to stick to Whatsapp with poor availability and sending delays up to 48 hours.

How is Telegram better than Signal in any way?

I don't miss anything using Signal, and I also use Telegram... Love the clean app Signal has

I sadly haven't used signal enough to notice any problems with it. Telegram, on the other hand, feels bloated from the get-go.

@PrivateGER Telegrams has lots of nice and user-friendly features: usernames, bots, lots more stickers, a much nicer and customizable interface, support for huge groups, web interface.

@yellow-dog Unfortunately, it falls short very badly on one fundamental feature: encryption.
Regular chats are not e2e-encrypted, and they rolled their own crypto for secret chats (which can also only be used from the mobile app).

@electrineer his comment that backs me up? Non standard encryption is not bloat

@endor This is actually one of the first times I hear this from someone!

I got about 30-40 people onto signal and they all find it very easy to use 😄
