It's even worse when people start talking and you have to take them off and ask them to start over. My boss does this constantly and I keep saying to wait until I take them off
-
If you are not a dev and you think its important, go talk to my PM then he will decide if it is more important than what i'm currently doing, If you just want to talk to a developer go and sit by the coffee pot until one shows up (it won't take more than a few minutes).
If you are a dev, headphones = use slack unless it is an emergency (i.e, the office is on fire), no headphones = use your judgement (unless you have bad judgement, then you should still use slack) -
Strosser258yBeen considering picking up some good noise cancelling headphones so that the roommate can't disturb me while I'm working from home.

@Strosser We got noise cancelling headphones when we started at my current company (Required equipment for open offices i guess)

I tell my coworkers to give me a few minutes. If it's not an important matter they back away most of time.

Headphones ON ears means DON'T disturb unless it's important.
Talking about the chance of rain is not f*ing important. Especially when it's the 10th effin time I'm interrupted by nonsense officetalk in one hour!
