Ive never used vim. In my life. I've never had the need to.

It was only yesterday while I was installing a new relic plugin to my MySQL server when the plugin installed opened vim for me to add some configurations. Took me about a minute to add the configs, and another 20 minutes to figure out how to quit vim.

Gotta say that I'm more comfortable making HTML websites with pretty CSS animations in sublime text than working in VIM!!! 👀

You can also Google vim cheat-sheet and find a handy document. I use vim when I log onto an Oracle server, and need to create a script. It really is a nice little editor once you learn it.

Good on you! Use what you know and are productive in. If Vim isn't for you, it's not for you! I'm the future you can use Nano on your Linux servers which is far easier to understand for non-vim users.

I own 4 physical books; Holy Bible, Yes Means Yes by Jessica Valenti, Just For Fun by Linus Torvalds AND vi Pocket Reference from O'Reilly...

Well using vim is not only if you "need" it, but it is a very basic simple editor that having no navigation menus showing can make you be more focused on what you are doing, anyway I've only used when accessing my raspberry pi via ssh haha I use atom for my stuff

@vzqzac this was my first encounter with vim. At first, I didn't even know if this was vim or not but I assumed it was hahahaha . I usually prefer nano which is pretty straightforward when accessing any of my servers.
