If you give the answer, and don't provide documentation you didn't show the OP a "why"
-
azork3388ystackOverFlow is not for "noobs". Look at Quora, used to be a nice website, now full of "who would win, the hulk with a sedative, wolverine without the hair style or green lantern with a brain?"
-
Downvoting without commenting why is so rude. Abuse of power. You can paste a link here so we can tell you why, maybe?
-
@tpalmerstudios That's just crap. Mostly you don't even need to paste any link or image whatsoever. Just get your code formatted and write in paragraphs, so that it's readable.
Ofc if it's just a stupid answer, expect downvotes. They could improve with giving reasons for downvoting though, would be much better while reviewing, because sometimes I think a post is in Low Quality just because a user has 1 rep, which is sad. -
juzles38618yTo add also, downvote on stack is not the same concept as downvote on other websites/apps. It's a way of filtering only the best solutions and picking the best answers.
If you got downvoted maybe the answer was too broad or too short and not explaining, asking or opening discussion etc.
It should have nothing to do with liking/emotions at all. There might be people abusing it though... -
@azork I can't ask a simple question without being told it doesn't have enough detail. At that point I fly over to fucking yahoo answers to get anything done
-
@tisaconundrum do you state what you've tried? Or what you thought might the problem? Even if you know that's not it, it shows you've tried.
-
@tisaconundrum SO is a really good filter for make-my-homework noobs which include also people who don't try stuff. Yet even when there's like -8 rank of the question, there's _always_ some answer either in comment (if put on hold), or as a casual answer. Except idiotic questions and the poor souls who get ignored. :-/
Just under 1000 on devRant.
At 14 on Stack Overflow...
Just short of being able to upvote! Maybe I can help noobs...
My next rant: Why do I get down voted when I try to help noobs?

so sucks
love you devrant
