Anyway I just want to fucking write code. I don't want to deal with people or give an opinion that is not appreciated. My manager says I am too aggressive but the truth is I hate stupidity and incompetence. I tell them their ideas are shit and not in a polite way and they make HR call me. Now I don't say shit and they are asking what I think. I think all of you are cunts that's what I think.but I don't say that. I say no comment when I know they are about to fall into a massive ditch. Will I stop them? Fuck no. Will I help them out if the ditch? Maybe, if it only involves writing code. I can't do diplomacy. I'll definitely be a fucking tyrant if I ever ruled a nation.

    When I have my own company, you're hired.

    @NoMad fair warning, I have no diplomatic bone in my body.

    @witchDev that's the best part.

    @NoMad I pledge allegiance to you and your future company 🤩

    @witchDev woohoo! First recruit successful!

    Meanwhile as you need to survive the dumbfucks who do play politics and think they're very good at it, here's how to piss them off and make them stop asking bullshit: pretend to be of the same iq as them and not understand what they're saying. Basically play dumb. The more angry you get, instead of telling them your real opinion, ask them "how" and "why"? It's a method by Socrates used to point holes at logic of the smart ones and patience of the dumb ones. They're going to hate you and stop playing politics. Tho, be warned they may figure out you're playing them to kill time until they lose interest, so gotta act realistic. Stick to your game. 😉

    This describes me pretty well, too, except I try hard to pretend to be nice and friendly. But I'm not super good at it, so people eventually realize I can barely stand most of them or their bloody moronic ideas. And sometimes I accidentally give my blunt, honest opinion and it makes people just stop and stare at me. Oops 😖

    Want another dev, @NoMad?
    I could use the sanity.

    And I wouldn't mind being called out if my ideas were stupid, either. I would expect it.

    @Root 🤔I kinda assume by then you'd have your own giant corporation. But oh well, if that didn't work out, you're hired!
  • 2
    @NoMad Maybe!
    And if so, I'll help fund your venture(s).
    Provided they aren't bloody stupid, ofc. 😂
  • 2
    @Root I hope they aren't too! 😂😂

    @Root yaass you both should run giant corporations so I can have 2 job prospects coz I am sorry but you are hiring me to take me out of my misery. I am okay with being called out on my moronic ideas too. I am also very nice to smart women. BTW how was the vacation?

    @witchDev Exciting. I found another place I want to move to!

    Almost everything was closed, though (thanks, corona) but we were able to spend most of the trip outdoors amongst the trees and water. I got pretty sunburnt and thoroughly enjoyed it 😊. That was half the vacay. The other half I spent doing some much-needed cleaning. (Closet, fridge, etc.) And best of all: I only thought about code once, when I wanted to! I wrote a mortgage payment class in Ruby during the drive back, and played with the numbers to find the cheapest way of buying a house 😊

    @witchDev not hiring you out of pity. I have firsthand seen giant companies go down because everyone just wanted to please the boss and no one cared about the company more than the niceties. So no, people who talk their mind as is and without ass-kissing are the best ones to hire. No pity involved.

    @Frederick being fake nice ought to be left to the clerk's and cashiers tbh and even then only as a kind gesture.

    @Frederick Absolutely agreed.
