Please, what is Diwali?

@BikerMouse Well Diwali is this cultural(believed to be religious) festival in India. Everyone, gives each other sweets, and all the materialistic crap to show love!

People light candles, <em>diyas</em> blow firecrackers which scare animals to their bones.
In short people have a blast!(pun intended)

Btw my answer might be biased as I am an atheist and despise anything related to god.

Seems fun! I'm an atheist myself but if a festival is fun, I'm all in.

Here in Trinidad it's a day for everybody (even and especially non-Hindus) to eat curried chicken, pumpkin, potato and channa (chick peas). I definitely had my fill today 😄 Thanks Indian community!

Also it was supposed to fall yesterday (Friday) but our government changed it to today so that we won't get the day off from work. Bastards.
