Now I am afraid to open Microsoft Word, because there is always someone asking me "Why not use LaTeX?".

For what? I worked somewhere where a junior decided we should have done in LaTeX. It was horrible, and I love LaTeX. Doc is also bad. Markdown?

The latest Word is amazing for the purpose it was made for. But come on, code in something that was made for coding.

But why not use LaTeX? 🤓

@Charmgoggles how? My current setup is with jekyll and mathjax, but it's really noth the best. However, I couldn't really find any nice method to write latex with markdown.

@Gauthier It was early in the morning and I must have misread something. Oops.

@Gauthier I code all the front-end of my websites in LaTeX

Lately I've been writing my school papers with Markdown, then export it to docx with Pandoc and it's ready!

I write faster that way than dealing with damn Word UI and other stuff

@Artemix @apex Do you know about org mode? It's an emacs mode so if you don't use emacs it's probably not a good idea, but if you do...

@Artemix it's mainly about making lists, sublists, but does a lot more. Make todolists, add deadlines, collapsing sections... And since it's text based it's diffable.

@Artemix since it's text based, any text editor would do, I guess it's all in the shortcuts that make it fast. I don't use it much, but people who do it enough seem to love it.

@Artemix I also export it to PDF, but mainly docx because some of my teachers just don't want PDF, I don't know why...

Because if you use LaTeX the sensation isn't as good...
