    Have you tried rebooting it?

    Maybe because you went cheap, you'll get the bleep....

    Are you playing CS:GO? For some reason the new default fps cap is 400 now..
  • 3
    @ScribeOfGoD Actually, I think it was...

    @alcatraz627 And perhaps a little bit of that as well

    @asgs As a matter of fact I did. And it helped quite a bit.

    @IntrusionCM Fuck off this thing cost me more than I care to admit!

    @Pyjong Isn't that pretty reasonable though? :p

    @ScriptCoded For instance my monitor has 60 Hz refresh rate.

    After reading this rant I created a C program that compiles and executes it self infinitely. It went not well, im commenting from my phone.

    Self-harm ? You need to treat it better.

    Stop placing firecrackers into the floppy drive.
  • 3
    @ScriptCoded then I apologize.

    Burn up as in high CPU temperature or "my knee touched the case and I'm missing a piece of flesh"?
  • 1
    @IntrusionCM As in "it's not actually burning up but everything is stuttering" 🙈

    @ScriptCoded hm. Getting warmer (pun intended).

    Which OS / which application?
  • 1
    @IntrusionCM Haha, it's this some sort of treasure hunt?

    Just a humble collection of Go, Node.js, socat, three VS Code instances, about twenty Chrome tabs and three PDFs opened in Chrome as well... On Kubuntu

    @ScriptCoded might be.

    Usually analysing the ton of HW information, checking for appropriate sysctl / application / kernel settings, validating and analyzing monitoring data to find the needle in the haystack requires humour.

    Or a russian gulag drill instructor to keep the morale up.

    Hm.

    I/O Scheduler could be messing up.

    What's the primary harddrive?

    In KDE, you could check if baloo is indexing. I usually exclude my Project folder, then it runs smooth.

    @IntrusionCM I'll definitely have a look at that next time it goes bananas. Thanks!

    I'm running on an SSD with an i7-10750H and 16GB RAM.

    My best guess as to what happened is that Minecraft servers that are closed incorrectly leave a bunch of garbage around. I had probably had about a hundred instances running in total. Not as the same time though, of course.
