Why do we all say "in production." How many people here use Elixir "in production." I don't know where I would use programming besides in the process of producing something. Why don't we say "In a live application?" (serious question)

    I think it must come the concept of having a product which is in production, in that, it's currently being served and sold....?

    We don't say "in a live application" because it's commonly understood that that's what "in production" means.

    Lol, how terse.

    @joetj Well, that is as close as I can bend as well. : )

    @kvsm That is amazing.

    @kvsm If that is the logic, then we can assume all apps are in productions or they aren't usable "applications." We're developing an app. Now it's developed. Now it's an app.

    @sheriffderek @sheriffderek Do you work in one of those teams that only have one environment: production? /s

    @ulmas I work in many teams and most of them have unique local environments, a development server, a staging server, and the live "production" environment where the active application exists and is used by standard users. There are also often forks of UI at that level. There is also a testing level of interaction that the user doesn't see. So, no. But I think you're missing my point.
