Lesson 1 of developing a project with managers: never make it known that solutions to some bugs are simple. Managers will assume that all bugs are simple and require little thought and effort. Then, when there is a bug for which you have no idea what the solution is just by looking at the issue, they will become upset.

    This resonated greatly with my current project. I was given the opportunity to do my schedule for tasks. I had 1 good day which I reported back for. "2 days ahead of schedule" does not translate to "THATS WONDERFUL! When can we start X new project?" He didn't like my response of "the schedule says end of month" which I still hold to be accurate.
