I think I figured where to draw the line when trying to learn cybersecurity.

Learning ActiveDirectory.

No fucking thanks, I’d rather eat a big steaming pile of dog shit.

    Yep. Just learn LDAP and call it a day. AD is cancer.

    @SortOfTested both are bullshit

    I don't disagree. But if you need to learn security BS, learning the standard as opposed to the product is both easiest way out and the fastest route through.

    Um..... can't I just connect to some monolithic auth...thing and it tells me if everything is ok and call it a day?

    Avoid active directory if you can.

    Dealing with AD is like dealing with a combo microwave, air fryer, record player, juice maker, tire pump, and fax machine: what the actual fuck are all of these unrelated things doing in one place?

    @SortOfTested indeed I still legitimately hate both items here and if i had a choice everyone would use something different. The amount of knowledge needed to work with either dear lord, might as well make it a new position

    They both kind of suck. Not really hard, just pointlessly obtused. Balanced parens are the same everywhere.

    @M1sf3t I agree, all these other heartless sons of bitches didn’t say shit about it, after all those sweet moments we shared on this site.

    @frogstair I am. I don’t think I should point this out but the end of my life has little to do with not checking devrant for a couple of months.

    Anyhow, when’s that nes rom coming out? I’ve been checking every single day without a miss since your first post.

    @jesustricks a little development hurdles, more specifically the fact that I lost the files half a year ago and then this

    And also personal life issues
