although i haven't posted here before i figure now is a pretty good time. so i'm 15, moving onto 16 beginning of next year, and i have been programming for about 3 years. be already done some freelance work and am actively working on a relatively large project. however there are a few things that are bothering me and concern me in regards to the future and what my outlook is like. right now i don't feel like i'm progressing or learning, and i'm unable to work as fast i had when i originally started. when i was still learning i was able to design and build things within a week, now something that would normally take a week takes nearly a month or two for me to complete. i haven't noticed any changes that might cause this but i feel it's something others have experienced. i've also been experiencing some oddly scary thoughts- quitting. it's resurfaced many times now and it's rather frightening, i have no other interests, besides scuba diving, that thoroughly peek my interest and i just can't imagine not programming. anyway my thoughts are pretty jumbled right now, just needed to get some stuff off of y mind

This is nothing to be ashamed of; quite the opposite. Don't quit. Relax when you need to. Continue freelancing when you can.

Post secondary education, if you pursue a CS degree, will be a breeze and by the time you're 25, you will have a degree and a strong 10 years of programming experience with some business knowledge.

Coming from someone who hires, you'd be the first interview in a stack of resumes after school.

It's extremely difficult to find developers that have any understanding of real world business.

Stick with it, you'll be happy you did.

Definitely agree what these two guys have said. I went through your situation it is weird when you get those feelings however don't let them put you off my best advice programming since 4 years old on the Commodore 64 then through different stages in my life I learned a new language and found what I was comfortable with syntactically however whilst learning to program I also learned how to set up dedicated servers and virtual machines. So my advice is always keep learning more than just programming, as you will grasp a better understanding of how a computer works. Always challenge yourself too but definitely take a break when you feel like you need too.
