zapjelly1188y@burswag Still the same kind of quality of work I expect from senior devs but don't expect them to work autonomously, will ensure they have mentors, that way they can grow (and earn more). Self drive /passion thing.
-
zapjelly1188y@burswag their prob if they don't have a senior dev to review code of junior or provide guidance. For the junior dev, see it as an opportunity and just do their best! Stackoverflow and here might help.
-
@zapjelly I don't think devRant will help a new dev, it sucks up time and anytime I see a technical question asked people respond harshly and tell the OP to go to Stack Overflow
-
burswag9298y@NathanDoesDev I agree. DevRant should be for ranting. There are plenty of sources of help out there.
-
@burswag you're good dude! I don't really mind the questions but it would defeat the purpose if this became a tech support forum.
Maybe a dedicated section would work, where users can "rant" about the issues they're facing and more experienced devs can help if they want. -
@burswag I have my day job which is £7 an hour and it sucks, currently teaching myself to be front end developer (then possibly move to back end once I have a job)
-
burswag9298y@loumorgsy hmm. Well, $11/hour is seriously low for a web developer in the US. Minimum wage in my state right now is $10.50. If I'm not mistaken, junior web developers should be making at least $20/hour, but someone correct me on that one if I'm wrong.
-
@burswag well I guess it'll differ from the UK for me minimum wage is £6.78 and I get paid £7 when I look for jobs they're around £12-15 so it is around double the minimum wage or higher I'm just underqualified

J4s0n13358yA bug that turns out to involve to an AI that tries to destroy the humanity... Would be at least a start
If you only pay your junior web developer $11/hour to handle projects by themselves, what kind of quality of work do you expect to have?
