Firefox is not a “chrome alternative”. Firefox is a better browser. Even if we completely keep the chromium privacy out of question, Firefox is still faster and Firefox devtools are still waaaay superior.

I wanted to say, that I prefer Firefox but sometimes need the chrome "Performance" tool, but just found out, that it was implemented for firefox as well.
I can change back to ff for work :celebrate:

Also: Despite ff being faster (cant really judge that tbh) there are a lot of sites that are faster under chrome, there was a whole blog about it, in which places sites are just optimized for chrome (or intentionally made worse for ff, say youtube for example, conspiracies, conspiracies everywhere)

@Rotten Is Chrome the new IE then? IE and IE websites used to do shit like that.

Dunno if I agree with that. The Firefox dev tools tend to be nicer for visuals, but chrome has an edge on debugging actual code.

@Demolishun pretty much, but it is not really about some websites being slower in other browsers, but Google essentially owns W3C and if they come up with something, it becomes standard very quickly

    Performance, features, etc etc..

Chrome/Edge have better UX. That's my use case/requirement.

Nothing is best or worst. Everything is subjective and contextual.

@F1973 there's a whole dilemma I see when one man tells their opinion, then, for some reason, another man tries to see it in an objective perspective and cool it down by reminding that it's subjective/biased.

It isn't like author intended to argue with you, is it?)

It recieves updates everyday, That's annoying sometimes, It is also slow in startup, I don't know if it's just for me, otherwise it's a great browser.

No matter how much I used both I saw no performance improvements, other than ff eating 100mb less ram

@vintprox okay. I might be wrong (or maybe I am wrong) and I own it.

Thanks for pointing out. And sorry OP if this came to you as if I am countering your opinion.

My point was, the context was about performance so I was highlighting my use case that's it.

True, although sadly, I am expecting it to be a chromium clone within a couple of years.

I've always loved Firefox, but sometimes it disappoints me, however, I just accept that. I think I'm married with Firefox.

I dislike how somme designchoices were made by the chrome devs. And i like the addons from ff more.

@stop the word “somme” immediately switched my parser from English to French and I couldn’t help it
