    2020: year of the conspiracy.
  • 2
@Root Nah, that started in 2016, or possibly 2008.

@Demolishun Fair; rather coming to a head in 2020 though, or more likely: 2021...

@Root Honestly though, this take has been going on for 200+ years. Subservience to the elite is a continual battle that will never end. Reagan was the last president to stand in the gap against this garbage. I believe the ones in between then and now sold us out. I have hope for Trump, but he doesn't use the we and us when talking about issues. He says I and me. I don't know if this is style or belief system. But he has results.

    @Demolishun I completely agree.

I’m also beginning to believe that socialism/communism is the Great Filter that Fermi was searching for.

@Root As a mechanism for the destruction of sentient life?

@Root I think the assumption that we have not been contacted by extraterrestrial life is flawed. The Indian sacred texts describe a weapon that should not be used. The text describes people being sick for years after its use, hair falling out, finger nails falling out, etc. We didn't know what would cause this until the USA bombed Japan with 2 nuclear weapons. Then pretty recently we found a city in India that looks like a blast instantly decimated the city. People died holding hands. Extreme glassification of structures and sand. Also radiation readings consistent with nuclear weapons use. Somebody within the written history of India used nuclear weapons. Their texts also describe sky ships and space battles. It is hard to ignore that the confirmation of nuclear weapons use exists in the same texts that describe space ships in Earth's skies.

@Root Exactly, like wtf. History as we know it, may not be history at all.

    It's bullshit.

The whole 2020 hype and it's the worst year ever is bullshit.

And the conspiracy shit isn't new...

Thanks to internet, social media and a ton of fuckwads being able to come up with even crazier ideas than other fuckwads, it's just more present -.-

@IntrusionCM A global pandemic is a pretty bad thing to happen bro. I, for one, really hope 2020 is the worst year in my lifetime. Obviously the rona isn't going away on January 1st but hopefully we'll manage it better next year

@M3m35terJ05h I still think it’s pretty laughable as a pandemic.

It has an extremely, extremely high infection rate, fair, but an extremely low mortality rate. Here in the states the mortality rate is an average of 2.5x the typical flu season (which is pretty low and basically nobody bothers with vaccines), and this one almost exclusively affects those in poor health. If you’re under 65, your chance of dying is between 0.001% and 0.2%, I believe? And much lower if you’re fairly healthy.

I simply cannot be afraid of something with that minuscule of a chance. I have a statistically more significant chance of getting run over by a car/bus when crossing the street here in Vegas. I also find it significantly scarier.

Everyone has done a superb job of fear-mongering, though. Credit where due.

@Root Someone told me that in the USA the amount of deaths is half of normal. So if rona killed approx 200K then we are net positive 200K deaths. We should have seen 400k to 500k from various causes. If this is true then rona has saved lives.

I don't have the actual numbers though.
