In about 1.5 hours i'm getting out of the side project/startup i've been working on with a few friends. Not an easy decision but had do it, as it had a negative impact on my real job.

If it affects your real job and that's your main income source and nothing is earned with the side project, then yes, it's the right decision. Although hard, you still have to make a living. I've been in the same spot, and I'm still in contact with my friends and will get an update soon about their progress :)

Yep, i wasn't earning anything on that side project. But it turned into 20-30 hours a week. That was 60-70 hours combined with my main gig.

Well, then you have made the right decision! And you can still meet your friends once in a while, meet up and get an update ;)
