@CorruptComputer I was experimenting with javafx and checking the sample javafx apps netbeans gives me,and I do agree that swing isn't the framework to use when you want build more modern looking stuff.Swing just happens to give a good enough ui to build the application I want.i will definitely move to javafx in a while.
