"The password must have 7 or 8 characters (numbers and/or letters)”
says Movistar, the biggest ISP and telecom company in Spain ... I can't even.

    Because.. {WildGuess.fire()}
    They don't won't too long password strings stored in their db?
    Or they use some brain fuck algorithm from another dimension that turns 8 letters into max length of a string in their db (255?)

    @Grundeir that seems a bit extreme. They are probably just fellow devs who had to comply with the business requirements or some arcane tech (it's the national telecom).
    They should join devrant. :)

    When a ISP becomes the top in a country, they just give up on being good. Ask Telstra

    I guess my Spanish lessons are paying off because I just read the title without even realising I was reading Spanish...

    Sweet!

    Ughu. And by default all adsl routers have open remote admin access to movistar office ranges... You have to love Spain.

    @addvilz to be fair, that restriction seems to be only for their customer portal. I changed the router remote pass a long time ago. It is not as restrictive, it just warns you that they won't be able to offer support remotely if you mess up the settings.
