Keep the powerwbutton pressed for 15 seconds. It should shut down.
Which laptop do you have? -
lotd79228yRandom freeze, no response on key presses.
Did it turn on after replugging power sources {battery, charger}?
Try holding power for about 20 sec with only battery.
Repeat with only charger (assuming the charger is working and giving the right amount of power output).
Make sure the key is getting pressed, perhaps try to "jump start" it by short circuit the board (not that I recommend it.)
Pay attention to if the power led lights up when charger is in,
If it does it could be a software issue, like a logic board, bios fault.
That's outside my scope of knowledge on this area though..
Still no luck?
at this point, a rma would be a better option. -
Nikitaw99238y@lotd Tried everything you told, if you don't count short circuit.
What's RMA?
P.s. attached a pic of the laptop. -
Take it to a service center
Maybe there's a fault in the motherboard
The only explanation -
Well, make sure the mainboard gets no electricity, it should boot after the new connection to power. Probably the display dtays on due to separate power supply. @Nikitaw99

Nikitaw99238yJust checked it today, (didn't bring it to tech support centerw yet), and it looked like it finally turned off.
Turned it on.
And it worked!
