Starting a new side project, that I believe and my close friends believe will take off, want someone to bounce ideas off of, sadly I'm afraid someone will steal the idea :(

This is what NDA's are for 😂

Yeah thanks for the advice! I've mentioned the idea to people at meet ups and it's a solid idea, I've already started on the business model and the designs and such.

My app will be like meetup.com but a more 1-on-1 basis, for web developers to meet up and tutor others, work on projects together, etc etc. I've noticed it's hard learning web development to begin with on your own, why are the only options, alone or a cert program(which is normally solo) or a boot camp which is extremely expensive. So I want to make a free peer to peer app

@trostik bit naive to think only people better than you will have ideas they would like to talk to you about that are worth an NDA .. But alas maybe I'm an idiot

It sounds like a good idea and there is a need for it.

Agree with @trostik 100%. NDAs: here, please sign this letter confirming that I don't trust you.

Ideas are cheap. Execution is the hard part. Most people either don't care enough or don't have the right skillet to steal and implement your idea

I was in a similar situation with my current project.

I decided to build it out and get it close before sharing it so that I was ahead of the curve. That way, if someone stole the idea, I would still be first to market.

It worked out because while I've been a senior backend developer for a long time, it was an opportunity to learn Swift and Angular.

Now, if the idea isn't as grand as I think it is, and it doesn't take off, at least I now know an additional language and an additional framework.

    Win-win.
