!dev

A few days ago I was 100% sure Trump would win. My words have never tasted so damn good. Maybe I'll actually get to see my family next year.

    Take this garbage to facebook.

    We're here to bitch about tech

    @F1973 See attached photo. Where are these policies stated? First I've heard of them.

    @Stuxnet Not seeing my mother because of corona and the mishandling of my government and being overseas isn't garbage. Also, this is what !dev is for. Simply don't read those if you only want tech.

    Check the trump tag. Everything under that should be removed by your logic then. All the trump jokes, etc. That's all political content.

    Seems like you're making the rules up as you go.

    @junon https://devrant.com/rules
    Agreed that if it's personal to you, it's fine (personal opinion). For future reference.

    @RememberMe The app needs a link, otherwise the rules are kind of useless. Especially since they're one-sided (again, look at the trump tag).

    Even then, this is really only related to the election by time and policy, not politics. I'm more looking forward to coronavirus situation being improved and being able to see family again. Living in complete fear of my mom getting it (she'd most certainly die from it) and being able to do nothing and watching my government fail repeatedly to get it right, this is a bit of a relief.

    And last I checked, bitching about coronavirus and governments happens every day here.

    So sure, whatever. Ban me if you want.

    @junon I said I think it's fine in this case. I can't really go back to my country to see my parents for a while either, and my mom is quite ill right now. So I understand. Calm down dude.

    Cry me a fucking river

    @Stuxnet Only if you promise to drown in it. :)

    @RememberMe Yes, apologies, I didn't see that the first read-over. My mistake.

    Interestingly, Wikipedia doesn't mention something quite IT relevant about Biden:

    "In 1991, then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) introduced an anti-crime bill that required providers and manufacturers of electronic communications to make it possible for the government to obtain the contents of voice, data, and other communications when authorized by law, essentially mandating that tech companies provide back doors for government snooping."

    @Fast-Nop Eh yeah not a fan of all that as a privacy advocate myself. We'll see how the tech landscape looks in four years though. Really tired of all of the sneaky-squirrel anti-privacy bills that have been pushed in recent years, and I think - amazingly enough - we'll see some vigilant watchdogs for them coming from both sides since everyone seems to be incentivized to do so even if for varying or even drastically different reasons.

    At least, the moderate in me is hopeful.

    I'm not in a spot to check right this moment, otherwise I'd research myself - was such a bill actually ratified? If so, what was the outcome? Still in effect?

    @junon I would just say no bc I'm built different like that

    @Stuxnet True, an inflated ego tends to be rather bouyant.

    @junon aw that was cute insult. Thanks boo

    @F1973 Lol ok

    I see my post was hidden, but all of the trump memes under the trump tag are still allowed.

    Disappointed.

    @junon your post was hidden likely due to the number of downvotes, as that's what happens when a post or comment gets too many downvotes.

    Jesus christ.

    @Stuxnet God you're unbearable.
