Storage doesn't pay for its self, plus that new 15GB is atrocious, considering people would have dumped entire photo libraries into it.

But on the other hand $2 for 100GB is a hell of a lot better then $2.99 for 50GB Apple generously gives.

To be fair, samsung and other vendors should be taking care of their customers. Expecting google to provide it to every android user is overreaching.

Low quality does have unlimited storage

As for why advertise for free and stop?
It sounds like a dodgey marketing ploy gone bad.

Reading up on this though, it seems existing photos/videos already uploaded won't count towards the quota though. So... it's get as much as you can in, then deal with the cap on top.

Moral of the story: when a service promises something, expect it to change tomorrow.
