I considered the carbon, but went with the x1 extreme, carbon has thermal issues, no 64gb option. I would hold off on lenovo for the next 8 months or so, they're going to release a number of 16:10 refreshes, ryzen mobile.
Skip their oled panel, also. It's low quality. -
kiki353984y@SortOfTested thanks! Can you recommend a decent lightweight laptop that is the same class but with a good oled panel? I really love that blacks.

irene33914yI got a L390 cheaply for no-work things and put Pop!_OS on it. I am quite impressed with it.
I would go for some AMD if putting serious money into a computer because Intel is sagging these days. -
@kiki
Oleds on mobile are in their infancy. The Dell XPS, Alienware m15 and razer blade 15 all use the same panel, and are the best on the market.
The zenbook duo is close, but I can't recommend if as a laptop. -
kiki353984y@SortOfTested oh. Okay, thanks.
Should I pick X1 or XPS? afaik they are the best laptops currently available in terms of durability and performance for their weight. -
@kiki
The Dell XPS fit and finish are better. The x1 carbon is significantly cheaper for the same (and possibly better binned) hardware.
Don't buy anything until after the ryzen refresh. It'll be slightly cheaper for 25% more performance.
I’m contemplating switching not to a new Mac, but to a ThinkPad X1 Carbon. I want elementaryos again.
