I agree with you. I have avoided JavaScript except for jquery, various charting libraries, 3rd party grids and calendars. I use whatever tool has decent documentation that will do the job. I know people who chase the latest JavaScript framework but I like working in code that has a longer shelf life like back end languages and sql.

Underrated rant is underrated

Choose the best tools for the job. Something like React and Angular is here to stay.
A lot of these framework freaks don't even know enough vanilla JavaScript to build something decent, that's way more important then chasing all these frameworks.
