Taking the AWS certification is on my to-do list this year. I still have a few niggling doubts about the cert tho'.

Has the certification created career options for anyone reading this?

I hardly believe certification mean experience.I would gladly hire anyone with experience on an area without certification.Just don't focus on getting the cert but gaining the experience

I've seen first hand how a stack of resumes is thinned by the decision makers, which is why I'm considering it.

Besides, it would be great to hear what devs with the certification have to say.

In my experience it helps for getting an interview for average jobs at average companies. Certifications have never directly helped me land a great job but maybe the experience at average companies did.. so yeah, everything has its purpose.
