I manage a dedicated VM for any occasional .NET development. But if this is your primary job - then why uninstall? :)

I think there's a tool out there that someone wrote to totally purge VS from your system. Had to use it once when it refused to uninstall the normal way.

Lifehacker tip: note when VS was installed. Uninstall everything from that day. .
