**Web Host Rant**

I can't believe how saturated the market is. I also can't believe how many Web hosts do not know a thing about development. You would think you'd want to read up on development practices before going into the business since developers are your customers.

Not to mention that a lot of hosting services are resellers of resellers of resellers. It's to the point where a 15 year old with their mom's credit card can start doing Web hosting. The problem is... they don't know how to answer actually development questions... they won't be in a conference call with you while you do deployments.

It infuriated me to the point where I've started my own hosting company. Completely managed and using the most advanced technologies aimed towards developers. Not only that but an advanced managment package that will teach proper deployment procedures and be there to hold your hand when you do deploy.

Oh and did I mention git will be available to even shared hosting? Oh and did I also mention that we are currently setting up put own git server?

    I makes sense that people would build out hosting companies... but it doesn't make sense that anyone would use them. What's yours?

    same reason I started mine. my hosting has an api where you can script everything. but I'm thinking about shutting it down because I had the same idea as you but all we're getting are the one click crowd. the developers me and you are both looking for run their own servers

    I started my hosting company for a similar reason. Just that Im targeting another kind of crowd. But I have incorporated a couple of features you mentioned like git.

    Quite interesting. Ive been working in a hosting company as well - well in fact I have helped build it from ground up but my ideas (simple and easy deployment via git, online code editor, a fully hosted groupware for each package so that you can properly use your email account with exchange active sync, offering load balanced hosting as we had servers in 6 European countries, in two locations in the us plus two in asia, minute based scalable cloud hosting based on website packages (like Azure app services) and on vm's etc.) And the one of the rest of the team were to different. They just wanted to make quick money with some shared hosting packages (and still are) so I quit that after a bit more than a year.

    I had really good experience with asmallorange when i used shared hosting, they provide jailed shell access which had git and other binaries and they could answer all my deployment related questions too

    @rjcrystal that's what our shared hosting has. We also use LiteSpeed and hybrid ssd for shared hosting. Oh and my favorite feature is unlimited free SSL certs.

    I think our featured product will be out cloud hosting. A little more expensive than others but with managed support.

    @fyroc oh wow that's great. But why use litespeed didn't it have memory leakage issues? Ngnix would be a better choice i think.
    Free ssl sounds like a awesome deal.

    I'm always looking for a higher level hosting. I'm fairly decent with managing my own dedicated server at work, but for smaller sites I want something that fits. Please contact me when you're up.

    I'm doing something different by not only giving excellent customer service but also giving our knowledge and consulting.

    How young are you? This has been going on for at least a decade lol. Most hosts arent going to help you with development stuff anyway
