    Pick a number between 1-3 l, there "random" lol

    No such thing as a random number.

    Check out random.org, and read how they did it. I find it interesting.

    Just chose 3

    I don't think random is meaningful without a reference to who is it random to...

    3 is totally random

    @sam0 yes I forgot to mention that 3 is the exception

    @xalez ++ for mentioning

    4, cos XKCD and if a ring is a viable answer to "what have I got in my pocket?" Who knows what the logic of the answer actually is...

    Write 6 random number algorithms yourself, and implement 6 random API services from the web. Choose two of the 12 at random, find the average between the two, then modulus to determine the highest prime that will be the index of your random 12 method array.

    Call that method, then realize that random numbers don't exist, become awe struke that the infinitely complex universe is an adaquate substitute, then either roll a die or take up Buddhism.

    Or chose 3. 3 is totally a super random number. More random then 23 and 59 or even infinity. Thaught infinity might me less random then 3 but it's still more random in the hierarchical table.

    @jamesh
    Yes there is! Don't be so sure of yourself when letting out such enormity...
    Well for your education: moving electrons caused by heat in an electric conductive material is pure random. You can amplify this noise and digitise the values. Some ICs you can buy do just that: giving you pure random numbers.

    @Plinn. I didn't realise people are doing that. I stand corrected!

    I'm seeing a lot of buzz here over 3. You guys are the experts, so 3 it is for me.

    Anyone have any thoughts on generating a "rando" number? Same algorithm and entropy sources, or different?

    Yes but rhe super ra'dom numer '' 3 '' is not deterministic and it's in the top of the random numbers list

    @runfrodorun its hard but absolutely random, thanks)
