when your boss can't distinguish back end from front end web dev

I admit the lines are blurred, but the guy whose background is pure front end probably shouldn't be designing databases, and I'd rather not spend my days trying to make videos autoplay on mobile on the company website

    lets just swap the tasks you get. bigger problem is if the other guy thinks he/she is pro backendre dev. :)

    he designed the db before I was hired (he's the senior), but the entire app he's building is based off the completely broken db. I got permission from my boss to completely remake it between the random front-end tasks I'm assigned, but his priority is making his broken shit look like it works and mine is injecting js into the company's squarespace site to make it look pretty.

    I don't even like visiting websites that autoplay videos on desktop browsers, but the owner insists. I even mentioned that it's deliberately blocked by mobile browsers for being obnoxious and bandwidth-hungry, but they don't care
