Grom3608y"How do i do X?"
"Just do foreach(foreach(foreach(foreach(foreach()))))"
"Totally works! thanks so much!" -
Koolstr27908ySO can be pretty toxic. But thankfully at least everyone there is well meaning. Unlike communities like League of Legends ffs
-
Grom3608y@DLMousey of course not! Why would I host that locally if it can be downloaded on every page request?

@runfrodorun Even well crafted specific questions get downvoted furiously like plague carrying flies. Just 'cause reasons bruv... <sarc> So sorry I dared insult the SO ego by asking something requiring more than a cookie cutter answer...</sarc> It' freakin' depressing how many moderator babys there are on SO now. I've given up asking questions on this as any answer seem to be written by people who don't bother reading past the first 2 words of the question. As you said: toxic.

@grublle There are the rules (those writen down) and the "rules" (the ones based on the whims of the mods with too many points and an inexplicable need to swing their shlong around). If there was requirement to justify any downvotes or upvotes prior to posting them it might get rid of a lot of confusions and enforce a universal std on the entire site as the process would be transparent. Thus weeding out the mod-trolls by shining a bright light on their egotostical decision making process and enabling the non-toxic ones to boot them out of the site permanently.
Problem is that nothing seems to break through the insane self-delusionary group-think of the site's ops. Any comment about the toxicity posted to SO gets the same treatment as witches in the late 1600s (spoiler alert: it's bad..).
The longer this shit goes the less any new blood will contribute to this site and It will eventually become just another digital craphole people begrudgingly step into as a last resort. -
grublle3988y@ElForritari I'm fairly active on mathstack.exchange as well. There they are a lot more pedantic but also all criticism is justified, their meta active.
StackOverflow tends to be a bit of a mess, so I understand you. But I still think it's necessary, mods should stick to rules and discuss them on meta.
I haven't had much problem in any of them. -
@grublle I've followed the rules every time precisely and every time it's closed for being non constructive or whatever. Quit it a while ago.
