plumbus11938yCan you clarify on this? Why do you think one person can be so successful? Just bc they can code?
Also have you become filthy rich from coding? -
This post is not about becoming filthy rich. It's about being happy with your life and what you decided to do with it. It's the fact that we control our own destiny. With the skills that we have, we are completely capable of doing so instead of complaining. @plumbus

plumbus11938y@bnickles i want to believe you. But i don't think i have the skills to whatever i want, and i think most devs also don't think of it this way. And i guess i brought up money because you mentioned poor.which i generally am. Dude am i really this pathetic? Your post has me thinking i am an even bigger waste of life, you make it sound easy to be happy
-
I just believe that everything is way more simple than what most people think. I don't know what's going on in your life but I think you have more control over it than you think you do. I can get way deeper into my beliefs but I don't want to get too off topic from coding. @plumbus

A lot of people dont live in the us where they throw money at developers. Just google the average salary of a deceloper in the different countries in europe
-
This is exactly why I'm learning to code! I want to get out of my current, snail paced career path and into something I enjoy and have more control over. I am learning to program, listening to podcasts, and studying to take the CompTIA A+ certification. It's exciting!

@BirdLawExpert The Internet has no boundaries. Find a freelance gig, or start a company yourself. I used to work at a 'startup' where we did huge projects and the pay was shit for what I had contributed. Started my own company, had a shitty start and multiple financial near-death experiences but once you're off the ground, you won't want to go back. The Internet is still so young, there's a lot of money to be made, tendency (obviously) growing...
And FYI I live in Europe.
Edit: Might have misunderstood, thought you live in Europe and ranting about it, sorry nvm. -
@thecritic no inlive in the us. Most startups fail and im working on my own startup project lol

My life does not implement IDisposable so I cannot easily create new instances... Too many legacy memory pointers

Its all about confidence and making some other motherfuckers believe in your shit. OP is at the edge and is seeing that. Keep it up. Make epic shit.
I don't understand why so many devs complain about not having money or complain about the company that they work for. We literally have the skills to do whatever the fuck we want in today's world. Literally everything is structured around what we do. If you hate your life so much, do something about it. Granted, I understand if you live somewhere that doesn't allow you to control your own destiny but I'm pretty sure that the majority of the people on this app has the ability to do so. The rewards are endless if you decide to think outside the box just a little bit. Sorry, this has just been on my mind for a while and decided to rant about it here since that's what this app is for.
