It you are just starting to learn programming and you are telling everyone else where the best resources are... and what the best practices are... and just repeating everything you hear... and you have “imposter syndrome,” it’s because you are an imposter.

Just enjoy the learning process. It’s not going to end...

Stop being a liar - and you’ll stop feeling like people think you are lying.

I just graduated college so I'd view myself as just beginning learning sometimes. That's because I'll probably be learning the rest of my life. I can identify when I don't like a tutorial. I can identify when it's hard to follow. I also keep a spreadsheet of all tutorials I look at ever in case I want to reference them again, so I might be an outlier.

@ostream The catch here is that many junior or even mid level programmers make fun of the entire industry, asserting that all code is somehow shit and it's impossible to write good code.

I reject this assertion entirely, as do most talented developers I know.

There are real imposters out there claiming they have imposter syndrome, to elevate themselves as not so confident but hinting they know a lot...

    Fuck pretentious assholes.

@ostream any moron who has under 5 years exp and read Clean Code from shitty uncle bob, then claiming “comments are bad” are just pretentious imbeciles.

Although my example is rare, you get the point. Write several thousand lines of real world code, then preach. If you don’t have exp, your criticism is about obviously bad code, so shut up again, everyone knows.

@ostream the code doesn’t even matter. It’s just the. Basics of how you problem solve and use tools. The totally regular “thinky” stuff. “I’m not sure if I know things?” - yeah, I can tell! Maybe ... it’s because they don’t.
