Had a interview over teams for what I applied for being a software position but the person interviewing me thought I applied for her HR position. No idea how that got fucked up that badly. She said she'd send my resume over to the technology hiring team. 🤦

Even worse when your parents are hoarders and so you get to move back into a room where you then get to clear out random shit that isn't yours. And try to convince your parents to throw out a dresser that only 3/8 drawers work in it but they want to keep it.

I hate the mentality that our only hobby as programmers should be coding. Sorry but I enjoy crochet, reading, video games, and fashion. I'm not dedicating my entire life to coding. If that means it's more difficult to get a job so be it. I'll dedicate some time to coding but not all my time. I hate the kids i went to college with who would judge you if you github account didn't have green squares every single day. Sorry I just can't focus on coding that much. I need a fucking break sometimes. I can't just be a coding robot. Maybe im not meant to be a programmer. Maybe that's why I still don't have a job when I graduated 11/20 and it's 02/02 but fuck. I can't just be a program robot. (Sorry I'm a little drunk and sad)

My bf learning a programming language I already know. Him frustrated with it not working. Me in the same room watching anime. His mom calls. I go over and see if I can figure out what's not working while he's in the phone. He was trying to run from command line and wasn't in the right folder 😆

I kind of dislike how few posts are on this app/site. I end up having to switch it to algorithm instead of new due to running out of posts to read. I like to look at this while waiting to queue in apex legends lol.

Had a job application asked for "federal marital status" that's the first of that question I've seen on a job app. Weird af.

If a job interview went well and they said they'd be in touch about a second interview, should you contact them after a certain amount of time asking how things are going? At the end of the first interview, they asked about my availability for this week and I said I was fully available and I'm really surprised they haven't contacted me at all.

There's no option for having a mohawk or fohawk or any punkish hairstyle for the female avatar. This is so lame. I might make my avatar male just so I can have a mohawk. If it's an option for the male avatar if should be an option for the female one too. :(

The fact my university still teaches ada as a coding language in a required class. That's a real disaster. Also had to use racket in another course. Nothing uses racket.

Hi this is my first post. Kind of annoyed at the job market right now. I've applied to a lot of positions without much luck. My internship last summer got cancelled bc of covid, so all my actual job experience is retail. It's hard to break into the field even with a college degree.
