Ctrl+alt+del doesn't do much anymore. Task manager is Ctrl+Shift+Esc now.

@tild3 I think the joke probably refers to Windows 3.x and Windows 95/98. Windows jokes are most often a throwback to the 90s and haven't been updated since.

That's why we've heard the same ones so many times, but actually they were kind of funny 20 years ago.

I assume you all know that there is "ctrl + shift + esc" to get directly to the task manager

Plot twist: even on macOS the built-in Force Quit is strictly one-app-at-a-time, so we're not exactly living in the future either. That specific frustration is what made me build boom — a menu-bar button that force-quits every user app in one click (Finder and Dock spared). Turns out everyone just wants The Button, no matter the OS.
