It is very hard to make me mad.

But if you imply I "didn't do anything" or that my job is "easy" because all I do is just ”sit in front of a computer” 9 to 10 hours a day then you can go fuck yourself.

Huh strange, I was just explaining the same thing to someone recently.

It's starting to get really old -_-

I don't see why you would get mad. Just reply with "come do my job for one day if you think it's so easy" or something like that.

"Here's the servers, there's the code, good luck dear user!"

@kamen @Condor 100% agreed! Sit there, here is what need to be done. This is the deadline. Tell me when you finish it so I can run some tests.

@brunofontes and make sure you have automated the tests!

    @kamen @Condor @brunofontes

When you talk to someone that doesn't understand computers at all, this argument is useless.

@BobbyTables use the same against them: your job is just to... It is very easy for you

@brunofontes They might counter that with "yes, it is easy, but I only get a minimum wage".
  • 2
@kamen so they are being dumb of not learning something "easy" and earn way more

Apparently, real work is when you are physically exhausted at the end of the day. So, it’s the kind of work that people have always used animals or machines for. Can you be proud of doing that work?

I already heard from some punk that “programming is easy” and that “you just sit in front of a computer for half a day” and that “you only need basic math to know how to code”. I had to sit and take it all in and attempt to regain my composure and not punch him, because I didn’t want to ruin my image as the genuinely nice kid.

    Fucking amateurs.

@Lensflare The irony is that some people voluntarily go get physically exhausted after a whole work day of mental exhaustion as a way to relax.

Once a wise man said nothing 😂

I get so irritated when people act like programming is such an easy job

I don't like it, sure, but I'm ok when someone who doesn't really know anything about the job says I don't do anything.
When a dev from the team I'm Principal Engineer of says this to me, after me dealing with all the shit (support, tools, setup, ...) so that he can focus on actual dev work.... I am left speechless...
