How many boring monotonous corporate meetings, leading to no helpful conclusion or action item, is too many in a day?

Jesus please I just want to work!!!

    Today I had a "core" meeting, the one where we take decisions...... 1 hour, nothing was achieved... what a waste of time <.<

    Management just repeated the reason we were doing the meeting for half an hour, the other half was illogical speculation then we scheduled another "core" meeting for the same reason.

    Let me die alone <.< plz

    @xxzer0 ha the classic "we need to schedule a meeting to discuss why we can't move forward because of meetings".

    Hits way too much home.

    I added up all the meetings I attend weekly and determined that I spend at least 20% of my time in meetings. At minimum. That's an entire day gone.

    Just out of interest, are they any kind of agile processes / meetings? And I'm not talking about giving it just the name (as I can see quite often 😂)

    @foox not even. We are not agile yet because of high management reticence to it. I can't imagine when we will get to it.

    I don't hate agile though, but it can easily be poorly implemented.

    @PepeTheFrog shame..
    Yes, saw it in former companies where they just did what they did before, but calling the regular check-ins in agile terminology. In fact they can sell it to clients (it sounds so advanced..) , but it's not really supporting devs.
