How do you actually accredit code stolen from a project on github? Like it's not used commercially and it's going to be on github, too.

for context: i stole a java class from a minecraft mod. which is about 5% of the source project but makes more then 50% of my project.

    Maybe ask the author?

You could just note the author in your code and readme or whatever...

Also depends on how much code we're talking about IMO. Some boilerplate ... maybe not so much.

If your project is open-source give credit, otherwise, dump the secret forever.
