At my previous employer my boss asked me how long a project would take. Told him about a week maybe two. He then informed me it was due that day. Apparently the client gave it to him months ago. I worked a 35 hour weekend to make it happen. Then he complained that my weekly time sheet was higher than normal. He didn't think it was accurate and underpaid me. So glad I got out of agency work.

    Prob cuz he can make a pivot table in Excel in two secs. That means you can make a web app in two secs. Right? Skill sets and all that.

    That was exactly this guys mind set. He wasn't a coder. He acted like one but he wasn't. So if I did a lot of super complicated stuff he just thought the less complicated stuff can be boiler plated and done on a lunch break.

    did you pad your hours at all because it was the weekend and he was shitty for giving you such a tight deadline? we've all done it...

    About a month later he quit paying me based on my time sheets and based it off of what he thought was "fair". I quit within 2 weeks of that.
