I've been working super hard for the past while.

I'm unhappy with almost all my work but my coworkers seem happy so whatever.

I'm just constantly irritated with myself for taking so long or making mistakes or whatever.

Gotta give a presentation tomorrow, not feeling excited.

Everything sucks , god fuckinngfck fuck my life

I am constantly un-impressed with my work. it is beneath me. I have a plethora of Clojure, Python and Go applications fixing the mistakes of legacy applications built by previous shitstains that worked at my institution. One of them is currently a professor at my institution, the dude dares not look into my eyes because he knows of the complete judgement that I have over his putrid code.

But this is the thing. The love for the field comes from your own self growth. You are acquiring knowledge, skills and things that make you superior day by day. Don't race against others, do it against yourself. Become your own champion, this is how you circle around this issue.

go home and make your computer talk. Make a powershell script that automates a large build process for a C++ application, learn why c++ still has its place. FIGHT that shit with Rust afterwards. Understand the beauty of Common Lisp and why it is so liberating

See why Smalltalk had it right and why OOP in C# and Java is lol. Then understand why it lols to a specific reach and how powerful the models are. Build a button in standard html/css that impresses you. Just go out there and build for you.

BUILD is what we do, we are architects, engineers, our skillset is not easily shareable or understandable. Only a certain level of the population has it.

Whenever you feel down in what you do, or not apt, think of the kid just finding out the field whereas you are already there. Push yourself to what you want man, build, build industries, build dreams. This is the closest you will get to being a wizard.
