bad-frog5464yif they would ask you before downloading shit upgrades that wreck ur gpu drivers that would be a big step forward i say
especially some fixes were (prolly still are) dependent on a specific version -
@bad-frog Hmm I never had GPU driver "wrecked" bu a windows update. EVER. And I use since windows 95 with my first S3 video card.
problem is on your end for this one. -
bad-frog5464y@NoToJavaScript most often problem is with amd for being such lazy fucks but that one was on windows.
i believe it was build 1907 then it upgraded to 1910?
drivers werent wrecked per se but i lost display on my dvi-port i think. and almost shat my pants because i needed to restart twice to recover from one display initially -
@bad-frog
Oh, here you go !!!
That’s super funny. Because after this first S3 vixeo card, my next was Riva TNT. And since then I used only nvidia until..*insert suspencefull music, image darkens” until.. 4 months ago when I bought Radeon 6800 XT.
Soooo that’s the kind of issue I should expect now ? If yes, time to resell the card and go back to nVidia. -
bad-frog5464y@NoToJavaScript well, if you are not willing to tinker a little bit, amd is usually not a good choice to begin with.
however, it seems that their more recent stuff its better, but their older lines get no love at all.
i saw it with amdgpupro vs ROCm.
i wanted opencl but rocm does not support pcie 2,0 while amdpupro on linux is a fucking mess.
best part: the official guy's most precise answer on one of their forums:" try linux kernel version 5,x to 5,y, we tried 5,z (the version of the guy who asked the question) and it seems to work, and dont know why it doesnt work on yours"
after trying half a dozen kernels i installed windows:/ -
@bad-frog I have a new challange for you then :
Make Intel card work on linux. It's already doesn't really work on Windows
https://tomshardware.com/news/... -
bad-frog5464y@NoToJavaScript lmfao
"why it wont work on most system" in affirmative
but for their defence it seems their machine is data-oriented.
tbh i dont know what they wanted to achieve with that. its neither a dedicated "coprocessor" nor a gpu -

Doesn't that go like not not, meaning at least somebody? -
I can explain, support Azure and the whole Developer community is sitting in a room, there is complete silence, everybody is doing there work, suddenly Azure pops out and says this, out of nowhere.

@AlmondSauce Holy fuck, you ruined the meme, now this meme doesn't make sense to me either.
